Makena is an undergraduate student in Biochemistry at California State University, Northridge. She has worked as an assistant researcher in the Boulesbaa Ultrafast Sciences Group studying nanomaterials using ultrafast technology towards the goal of understanding chemical bonds and energy flow. Beyond this, her current research interests include research exploring biological systems with simulation. 

Makena is from Los Angeles, California and enjoys photography and fitness.
